You don’t have to be a professional reviewer to write for Crackling Sound. If you know your way around turntables, speakers or headphones – or you have built, restored or lived with a system you can tell a story about – we would like to read it.
Topics we are looking for
- Turntables, cartridges and phono preamps
- Speakers, amplifiers and headphones
- Vinyl records: collecting, pressings and care
- Guides, setup tips and troubleshooting
- DIY audio projects
- Your own experience: a system you built, an upgrade that changed everything, a mistake others should avoid
Guidelines
- Original – unpublished anywhere else, written in English.
- Backed up – technical claims supported by sources such as manuals or manufacturer documentation.
- Honest – personal experience clearly labelled as experience.
- No hidden advertising – no paid links or promotional copy.
- Written by you – no raw AI-generated text.
- Edited – our editor may edit your article or decline it, in line with our editorial policy.
What you get
Your byline, a short bio and one link to your website or portfolio (the editor decides on the link attributes). Good contributors are welcome to write for us regularly.
